Experiencias

Scuba diving try-out in Mallorca is the gateway to one of the most exciting sports in the world. A short theory session on land, practice in shallow areas, and then the real dive: seeing the underwater world for the first time, with fish moving around you and light filtering down from the surface. An experience that forever changes the way you perceive the sea. Guided dives in Mallorca for certified divers take you to dive spots that no surface tourist will ever reach. Underwater caves with stalactites, vertical walls covered in gorgonians, posidonia meadows where nacra lives — the largest clam in the Mediterranean — and seafloors with visibility of up to 30 meters on the clearest days. For the most advanced divers, dives in Mallorca’s marine reserves offer encounters with groupers, octopuses, barracudas, and, in season, with some of the cetaceans that frequent the Balearic waters. A biodiversity that keeps surprising even divers with many hours underwater.

The dive in the marine reserve was spectacular. I had never seen so much marine life in one place. Mallorca’s seafloor is on another level.
James Cooper
We did the try-out with our 10- and 12-year-old kids. Everything was well managed, safe, and fun at the same time. The faces they made when they saw the fish say it all.
Christine Lambert
Diver with over 200 dives, and the northern seafloors of Mallorca continue to surprise me. A destination worth returning to every year.

Common questions about scuba diving in Mallorca

We answer the most frequently asked questions about scuba diving in Mallorca with Lurion.

The scuba diving try-out is available starting at age 8. For the youngest participants, we adapt the activity with specific equipment and in areas of very shallow water.

Do I need to know how to swim to dive?

Yes. It’s essential to be comfortable swimming. You don’t have to be an expert swimmer, but you do need to feel safe in the water.

How deep do you go on the try-out?

The try-out is done at a maximum depth of 5 to 8 meters, always with the instructor right beside you, and in areas selected specifically for their visibility and calm waters.

Can I do the try-out if I have ear problems?

It’s recommended to check with your doctor first. In most cases, following the correct compensation technique, it doesn’t cause any problems. The instructor will guide you during the session.
